VANRATH are recruiting an Assistant Buyer to work for a leading Mechanical Contractor, based in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

Client:
Our client is a leading Mechanical Contractor with a reputation for quality workmanship and reliability. They work on a range of projects across Commercial, Industrial, Leisure, Retail and Healthcare sectors throughout the UK, Ireland and Europe. The business has a lot of work on and a strong order book for next year, particularly working on data centre projects. They have a great opportunity for an Assistant Buyer to join them, based in their offices in Antrim. This role is office based full time.

Overview of Role:
Great opportunity for a highly organised and motivated Assistant Buyer to join the Procurement & Supply Chain team. This role is perfect for someone looking to develop a career in procurement within the construction and building services industry.

The Assistant Buyer will support the Procurement & Supply Chain Manager in ensuring the efficient sourcing, purchasing, and delivery of materials to support project delivery. Additionally, assist in managing supplier data, pricing records, and purchasing documentation, while negotiating with suppliers and contribute to continuous improvement within the supply chain.

Qualifications Required:

  • Degree qualified or other relevant qualifications
  • Experience working in a procurement role within the construction industry
  • Track record working on Mechanical projects is ideal
  • Good commercial skills and awareness
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, able to liaise with suppliers and internal teams professionally
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
  • A positive, proactive approach and willingness to learn from senior team members
  • Ability to manage workload and priorities in a busy environment
