Assistant Accountant

VANRATH is pleased to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a well-known manufacturing and construction company in the Mallusk area. This role is well suited to a Part- Qualified candidate or an individual that is qualified by experience candidate looking to transition to a dynamic industry role.

What you'll do


The Assistant Accountant will have an interesting day to day working life due to the variety of daily tasks. The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for;

  • Bookkeeping, management accounts and year end preparation.
  • Liaising with the external accountant and senior stakeholders
  • Overseeing purchase and sales ledger management - issuing invoices, credit control and all account reconciliations (bank, credit card, Sage wages to Sage 200 accounts, etc)
  • Vat Returns and payroll processing
  • Responsible for informing HMRC of all CIS monthly returns
  • Controlling cash
  • Managing online banking system,
  • Reconciliations
  • Arrange payments for creditors

About you

The new Assistant Accountant should have the ability to work independently and have excellent attention to detail as well as:

  • Part- Qualified in CIMA/ACCA or Account Technician or have the relevant experience
  • Previous experience within a transactional finance function
  • Previous experience with Sage 200
  • Excellent communication skills
