The Role
The successful Assistant Accountant will be responsible for a variety of tasks and will play a vital part, in the day-to-day running in the finance function. Ideally the successful candidate will have previously assisted in the preparation of management accounts, The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Bank and cash reconciliation and weekly cashflow forecasting
  • Preparing and submitting quarterly VAT returns, EC Sales Lists, Intrastat declarations
  • Month end adjustments including bad debt provisions, accruals and prepayments, foreign exchange translation
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Overhead variance analysis
  • Monthly review of expenditure against budget
  • Provide company management with reports
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management and statutory year end accounts
  • Assist with preparation of claims to Invest NI
  • Assist with statutory audit
  • Assist with preparation of budgets and forecasts, including liaising with budget holders and providing historical data
  • Assist with ERP and other software changes, testing and documenting them, and ad hoc projects as required


The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will be a part-qualified accountant, activity working toward their professional qualification. The succesful will ideally meet the following criteria:

  • Part qualified candidate (ACCA/ACA/CIMA) or IATI qualified
  • Previous experience in a busy finance function
  • Previous experience of using ERP and payroll systems
  • Excellent IT skills ( Words/Excel)
  • Excellent communication skills
