VANRATH is pleased to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a well-known organisation based in the heart of Belfast. The successful candidate will be responsible for two sets of company management accounts and report directly to the Financial Controller. Our client has an annual turnover of £7mil and their sister company has an annual turnover of £5mil. This is only set to grow!

Your Next Role

The successful candidate will assist the site accountant in all management accounts and month end procedures.

• Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts including accruals and prepayments.
• Manage the direct debit system and prepare the monthly prepayment journal.
• Processing and preparation of monthly payroll.
• Prepare bank reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset registers
• Prepare accounting information for grant applications and claims
• Credit Control.
• Purchase & sales ledger

About You

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years' experience in a commercial setting and be proficient in Sage.

• 5 years' experience within a commercial setting
• Proficient in SAGE Line 50 Accounts & Sage 50 Payroll or equivalent payroll software
• Experience in payroll preparation
• Computer literate, with excellent experience of Microsoft Office with particularly experience in Excel Spreadsheets
• Ability to use own initiative but also work well within a team
