Assistant Accountant
VANRATH is pleased to be recruiting for an Assistant Accountant for a growing organisation. Our client has made a recent acquisition in Northern Ireland, and through this they have created a new position, which will support the Financial Controller in the day-today running of the business.

The Client
Our client has a turnover of £30M and is hoping to create 100+ jobs through their new acquisitions. Having both manufacturing and production lines to the business, growth of the company is imminent, and the successful Assistant Accountant will gain excellent exposure to a busy market across the UK and ROI regions.

The Role
The successful Assistant Accountant will work closely with the FC, to ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly management accounts. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Assisting in monthly management account preparation
  • Preparation of accounts to Trial Balance
  • Managing credit Control
  • Assisting with payroll
  • Assisting in the preparation of VAT and Instrat returns

The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have 2 years' relevant experience and ideally be a qualified accounting technician or a part-qualified accountant. This role calls for a driven individual who is a self-starter and up for a challenge. As this is a new acquisition, the role will be challenge and demand a lot form the successful candidate. However, this role will make you career, and provide experience which you can not receive elsewhere. The successful Assistant Accountant should meet the following criteria:

  • IATI qualified or a part-qualified accountant
  • Sage 50 experience ideally
  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role
  • Excel confident
