Are you looking for a Asset Manager (Public Sector) role? Interested in working for a large public body for a period of 12 months+?

VANRATH are recruiting a Assets Manager to carry out a range of professional property asset management services, overseeing the day to day management of the client's property portfolio and assisting in the implementation of the Estate Strategy and Asset Management Plans.

Remuneration:
c£42,614, alongside holiday entitlement and pension (from day one).

The Ideal Person

  • Degree or equivalent qualification

AND


Be able to demonstrate a minimum of 2 years' management experience in an Estate Management function in the following:

  • Proven track record in successfully managing capital assets including the preparation of detailed asset management plans for large mixed use property portfolios
  • Experience of carrying out due diligence, land valuations and site inspections, surveys and negotiations on land and property
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining systems to support and optimise the performance of assets
  • Demonstrate experience in the commercial issues surrounding all aspects of capital asset management.

OR

  • If you do not possess a degree, have 4 years' management experience in the following areas.

    Proven track record in successfully managing capital assets including the preparation of detailed asset management plans for large mixed use property portfolios
  • Experience of carrying out due diligence, land valuations and site inspections, surveys and negotiations on land and property
  • Proven experience in developing and maintaining systems to support and optimise the performance of assets
  • Demonstrate experience in the commercial issues surrounding all aspects of capital asset management

  • Full Corporate membership of a relevant Professional Institute or make a commitment to work towards corporate Membership of the relevant Professional Institute.
  • Awareness of legislation and key elements of property legal matters.
  • An understanding of the main issues and developments impacting on service delivery within the service portfolio.
  • A clear understanding of the workings of local government and the wider environment and political context in which it operates.
  • A full current driving licence

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Strategic and Day-to-Day management of the Clients's Property Asset portfolio in line with the Asset Management Strategy. This includes the preparation and implementation of a portfolio wide Estate Strategy and individual Asset Management Plans to support the delivery of the Client's corporate objectives and departmental service delivery requirements and assist long term planning of the Client's estate.
  • Carry out due diligence, land valuations and site inspections, surveys and negotiations on land and property, managing any external consultants as required.
  • Develop, implement and maintain systems to support and optimise the performance of Client assets.
  • Prepare asset reviews and options appraisals to support Client's decision-making on property in line with the Asset Management Strategy as required.
  • Gather and analyse data on property operational costs and receipts and prepare and implement suitable benchmarks and KPIs to monitor the performance and use of the Client's Estate.
  • Work with Heads of Service to understand service delivery requirements and financial constraints and advise on property issues arising in the use, acquisition or disposal of Client properties.
  • Provide in-house training for staff in the operation of the Asset Management Strategy and its delivery.
  • Maintain and update the Asset Management Strategy to reflect the core objectives of the Client.
