About You
- Possess a third-level qualification in Estate Management, Surveying, or a relevant discipline; or demonstrate 5+ years' relevant experience in property and asset management
- Chartered Surveyor status or strong practical experience in relevant fields (desirable)
- Extensive knowledge of land and property transactions, valuation, and lease management
- Proven financial management skills with experience overseeing budgets
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building abilities
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
What You'll Do
- Lead strategic asset and property management initiatives to ensure optimal use of council estate and resources
- Oversee the council's insurance and off-street parking functions, including risk assessments and procurement processes
- Develop and implement policies related to land transactions and corporate landlord models
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations to council committees, providing strategic insights and recommendations
- Coordinate property transactions with external professionals including valuers and solicitors
- Manage budgets, monitor financial performance, and ensure all targets are met
- Lead investigations into risk and loss prevention, collaborating with safety teams to minimise future issues
- Supervise and develop team members to foster a motivated and high-performing environment
- Support the development of master plans for asset utilisation and accommodation strategies to enhance efficiency
