VANRATH have partnered with a well-established and growing used car dealership based in Bangor. The organisation is recruiting an Aftersales Manager / Head of Aftersales position.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly experienced Motor Industry professional to take full ownership of a critical department within a successful vehicle business. For the right individual, this role offers genuine scope to progress into overseeing wider dealership operations.
This is a Permanent role, based in Bangor, with full-time working hours.

The Role
We are seeking a hands-on, senior Aftersales leader who can take complete ownership of the back-of-house operation. This role is critical to ensuring vehicles are prepared, processed, and made live efficiently, with robust systems, KPIs, and workflows fully embedded.
The successful candidate will manage multiple internal and external teams and will play a key role in driving operational excellence, accountability, and performance across the Aftersales function.
Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for the Aftersales / Back-of-House operation, ensuring vehicles are prepared and available for sale within agreed timelines.
Lead and manage multiple teams including:
Mechanics
Administrative staff
Paintwork and body repair
Wheels and refurb
Auto-electrical / auto-sparks (internal and external suppliers)
Own and implement existing KPIs, strategies, and workflows to ensure operational targets are consistently met.
Manage stock preparation processes end-to-end, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
Oversee warranty work and liaise effectively on warranty-related processes and claims.
Develop, improve, and embed systems and processes to enhance productivity and accountability.
Monitor performance metrics and management information, driving continuous improvement.
Coach, mentor, and motivate team members, creating a culture of ownership and high performance.
Work closely with senior leadership to align Aftersales output with overall business objectives.
Ensure exceptional internal service delivery, supporting the wider dealership's commercial success.
The Ideal Candidate
Extensive experience in a senior Aftersales / back-of-house leadership role within the motor industry.
Strong background in vehicle preparation, stock readiness, and workflow management.
Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams and external suppliers.
Solid knowledge and hands-on experience of warranty work and processes.
Demonstrated ability to implement and own systems, KPIs, and operational strategies.
A proactive, accountable leader who takes full ownership of departmental performance.
Full valid UK driving licence.
