Job description

VANRATH are delighted to be partnering with a high-growth, boutique advisory practice in Belfast to appoint a Business Advisory Accountant.

This is not a traditional compliance role. You'll work directly with founders, scaling businesses, and high-net-worth clients - helping them make better commercial decisions, not just ticking boxes.

If you enjoy client interaction, thinking beyond the numbers, and want to move into a more advisory-led position, this is a genuinely standout opportunity.

The Role

You'll take a hands-on role supporting a diverse portfolio of ambitious clients across tech, creative and professional sectors.

What's in It for You

  • A genuinely advisory-focused role (minimal "box-ticking")

  • Direct exposure to founders and high-growth businesses

  • Broad tax exposure - corporate, personal and R&D

  • Fast-tracked progression in a growing, ambitious firm

  • Modern office, collaborative culture and early finish Fridays

  • 30 days holiday, pension and bonus potential

What You Will Do

  • Work closely with business owners, acting as a trusted advisor

  • Prepare and interpret management accounts and KPIs

  • Deliver cashflow forecasting and financial modelling

  • Advise on tax-efficient structures, profit extraction and planning

  • Support across CGT, VAT, R&D and personal tax matters

  • Oversee compliance including statutory accounts, tax and payroll

  • Build strong client relationships and contribute to practice growth

Requirements

  • ACA / ACCA qualified

  • Strong grounding in accounts and tax within practice

  • Commercial mindset with an interest in business advisory

  • Confident communicator who enjoys working with clients

  • Experience with cloud systems (Xero, QuickBooks etc.)
