VANRATH is delighted to be working exclusively with a well-known commercial services business as they increase the size of their finance team to meet the needs of a growing business. My client has recently undergone a restructure and a new role of an Accounts Technician has been created. My client is responsible for many businesses within the hospitality sector across Northern Ireland and is continually building their portfolio.

The Role
This role is a full-time office-based role. The successful candidate will report directly to the company Accountant and work closely with other members of the close-knit finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Processing of VAT returns (UK)
  • Use of computerized finance systems & document management systems
  • Bank reconciliations & familiarity of on-line banking
  • Knowledge of inter-company transactions
  • Responsible for miscellaneous payments
  • Dealing with debtor days reconciliations
  • Using purchase ledger systems



The Ideal Person
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1 years' experience in a busy finance department and ideally be a qualified Accounts Technician. The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:

  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent at a minimum of Grade C (must include maths & English language)
  • Qualified Account Technician (IATI or ATT)
  • Good team player
  • Ability to prioritise diary & work to strict deadlines
  • Can-do/pro-active attitude
  • Strong understanding of tasks
  • Previous experience preparing balance sheet reconciliations and month end processes.
  • Previous experience in a commercial setting
