Accounts Payable Lead (Hybrid Working, 30k+)

Our client has had over a century of success and is continuing to grow in strength. The Accounts Payable Lead will be responsible for managing an AP team and will report directly to the Financial Controller.

The Ideal Person


As an Accounts Payable Lead, you will need to demonstrate excellent communications skills with team members and maintain high levels of accuracy especially when approaching deadlines. You must meet the following criteria:

  • Both GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above
  • Previous experience of leading an Accounts payable team and working within a busy finance function
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Advanced Excel skills including Vlookups and Pivot tables
  • Ability to adapt to change and work to strict deadlines
  • Experience with various ERP systems



The Role


The Account Payable Lead will be a brand ambassador and should go above and beyond to support the business and adapt to help meet the needs of the finance function. The Accounts Payable Lead will be responsible for:

  • Managing the Accounts Payable team, including staff levels and workload
  • Maintaining the closure of Accounts Payable month end to a deadline each month
  • Managing payments including EFT, Cheque and online payments. Ensuring invoices are cleared
  • Liaising with creditors regarding payments and queries
  • Processing supplier invoices
  • Ensuring governance with supplier reconciliations and accuracy of purchase ledger
  • Certify appropriate documentation for systems and processes
  • Support the annual audit process
  • Provide support to the Financial Controller as required
