Job description

VANRATH are delighted to be partnered with a growing business in Ballymena, who are offering a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Accounts Administrator to become part of their team.


What you'll do:

  • Manage Accounts Receivable: Process customer invoices, apply cash receipts, reconcile accounts, and ensure timely collection of outstanding balances, including preparing aging reports and handling customer queries.

  • Maintain Financial Records: Accurately record and organise all invoices, receipts, and correspondence, supporting month-end close with detailed AR reports and schedules.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Liaise with customers regarding billing issues, provide account statements, and collaborate with internal teams (e.g. sales, customer service) to resolve account-related discrepancies.

  • Support Financial Operations: Assist with weekly and monthly payroll, bank and credit card reconciliations, and provide backup support for purchase ledger tasks.

  • Audit & Compliance: Assist in internal and external audits by supplying requested documentation and ensure all processes follow accounting best practices and internal controls.


About you

  • You have solid experience in accounts receivable, billing, credit control, and ideally have dealt with credit insurance and external stakeholders such as banks or insurers.

  • You're confident with accounting systems (e.g. Sage, QuickBooks, Syteline, Infor) and have advanced Excel skills to match - VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, the works.

  • You bring a strong understanding of core accounting principles, and you're naturally accurate, analytical, and detail-focused in your approach.

  • You're an effective communicator with excellent negotiation skills and a customer-focused, professional attitude when working with internal and external teams.

  • You're highly organised, able to juggle priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of your work - whether collaborating as part of a team or working independently.
