Accounting Technician/Part Qualified Accountant

Job Description

VANRATH is thrilled to partner with a leading building materials supplier in Newry to recruit an experienced Accounting Technician/Part Qualified Accountant.

Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing monthly management accounts and related reports
- Administer the general ledger, including reconciliation of ledger accounts
- Administer and reconcile bank accounts
- Assist in maintaining the fixed asset register
- Assist in preparing VAT returns and related reports
- Support the annual financial budget process
- Assist in completing insurance declarations, DETI returns, and other legislative returns
- Reconcile and analyse major balance sheet accounts
- Assist with other financial duties as required
- Provide cover for other roles in the department as needed

Essential Criteria:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience working in a finance department
- Experience in assisting with the production of management accounts
- Experience in general ledger maintenance and account reconciliation
- Experience in managing company bank accounts, including reconciliation and balance sheet reporting
- Proficiency in Microsoft products, particularly Excel spreadsheets
