Celebrating our team’s achievements OUTSIDE of VANRATH

“Turn-table Thomas”

Our very own Thomas Greer aka “HI-KRU” was seen turning the tables from Recruitment to DJing at the AVA festival on 31st May down at the Titanic Slipways! 🎶

Whether he's matching candidates to careers or tracks to beats, Thomas always knows how to find the perfect mix.

We were thrilled for Thomas on this amazing accomplishment – he’s truly dropping beats of success in every aspect!

GOOOAAAALLLLL

Once again, we’re extending a heartfelt CONGRATULATIONS to our very own Jarlath O'Rourke for his remarkable achievement on the field! ⚽

Jarlath scored a goal for Crusaders in the European Play-Offs final against Coleraine which not only helped them secure victory, but also ensured their well-deserved place in the European Competition! 🥅

A testament to his talent and dedication, this accomplishment speaks volumes about his exceptional abilities both on and off the pitch.

Go Jarlath! 🥳

Run, Run, Run, as fast as you can…

Kudos to our Director of Public Sector and Contract Recruitment, Damian Della Croce, on completing The Moy Park Belfast City Marathon! A remarkable achievement that showcases Damian's dedication and perseverance. 💪 Well done, Damian, on this impressive feat of endurance and determination!

Women in Tech Awards 2024

VANRATH once again had the absolute pleasure of sponsoring the Women In Tech Awards which were held in The Europa Hotel👩💻

The Women in Tech Awards are an extraordinary event dedicated to celebrating the incredible women in our local tech community.

To all the winners and finalists, your dedication, hard work, and achievements are truly inspiring. You serve as role models for aspiring tech professionals and demonstrate the incredible potential of women in this field.

We were honoured to help celebrate your successes and look forward to seeing your continued impact on the industry. 💜

Belfast Chamber Lunch

Our Managing Director, Barbara McKiernan, set off to Europa Hotel in Belfast where she was able to listen to Finance Minister, Dr Caoimhe Archibald MLA, discuss the recently signed off budget. They discussed the importance of a sustainable Childcare Strategy with £25,000,000 set aside for this.

It is fantastic to see movement on issues such as this which will have a direct impact on our local economy supporting ‘economically inactive’ back into employment. 🙌🏻

(We also heard the food was pretty darn good, too.)

Catalyst’s Annual Briefing

Our two Operations Queens, Julie Moore and Emma Wilson, attended the Catalyst Annual Briefing on 29th May.

They listened intently while the amazing impact Catalyst programmes have had to date was discussed.

Steve Orr’s passion to put Northern Ireland based innovation on the world map is inspiring, and Liam McStravick’s company growth so far, future plans, and the impact that Catalyst has had on the business is incredible.

Belfast Chamber Survey Results Launch

Staff recruitment remains the top challenge for 44% of the NI businesses surveyed. 💡

This was the key take away that our Operations Manager, Emma Wilson, came away with when she attended Belfast Chamber’s Business Survey Results launch.

With this statistic, it was no surprise to learn that respondents highlighted the impact of the labour supply deficit on their businesses alongside increasing salaries (to retain or attract staff) plus inflationary increases to support staff with cost of living. 💸

A very informative session indeed!

The Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management Conference

Our Senior Built Environment Recruitment Specialists, Chris Haddock and Glenn Roberts, had a great day at IHEEM (The Institute of Healthcare Engineering and Estate Management) bi-annual conference which was held at the Europa Hotel in Belfast.

Aside from coming away with more merch than we ever thought to be possible, they also attended various seminars that were presented by leading experts on key issues in their respective fields. 💡

They also had the chance to speak with some amazing and inspiring individuals from all over NI and further afield!

Great day out for all who attended. 🎉

Queen’s MBA Career Networking Evening!

Emma Wilson (Operations Manager) and Ross Stevenson(Associate Director) attended Queen’s MBA Career Networking Evening which was held in Riddel Hall with Queen's Business School! 🏫

The night featured guest speakers and a panel discussion focusing on how to build trust as a leader within organisations. The night featured guest speakers and a panel discussion focusing on how to build trust as a leader within organisations. It provided an opportunity to learn from some impressive MBA students and offer some career and development guidance for when they are ready to hit the job market!

A wonderful evening had by all who attended 🥰

Queen’s Women in STEM Conference

VANRATH had a good time attending the first ever Queen’s Women in STEM conference which was held in the Mandela Hall at Queen’s University Belfast. Our team (Suzanne Lowry, Jennifer Curran, Katie Ashenhurst) all headed down to chat with students about their future careers and help point them all in the right direction!

It was great to see the enthusiasm these students have for their professional futures and we were glad to help them on their journey 🥰

Women in Business Mentoring Celebration Dinner

Our Managing Director, Barbara McKiernan, attended the Women in Business NI Mentoring Celebration Dinner at Titanic Hotel Belfast which was sponsored by VANRATH! 🍽👩

Barbara took to the stage to be part of a panel discussion around the WIB mentoring programme where she had the chance to chat with the panel and audience about:

✔ how having a mentor impacted her career;

✔ the key skills needed to be a mentor today and;

✔ her most memorable moments to date as a mentor.

Being a mentor is a rewarding experience and Barbara was thrilled to have been given the opportunity to discuss it in more depth at yesterday's dinner!

To quote The Centre of Learning- it was a "lovely opportunity to connect, share memories, and recognise the power of women supporting women."

A Tee-rific day at the Business Four’s Golf Competition

A huge congratulations toJoe Sowerby, Ross Stevenson, Adrian Harrison, and Ethan Boylan who swept aside the competition, winning a £500 donation to NI Children's Hospice 🎉🎉🎉

Ethan went closest on 8, 14, and sunk the longest putt on 18 to win THREE individual awards as he helped the team lift the trophy 🏆 (Rory McIlroy, who?)

Excellent achievement, guys, well done - you're "on par" with the best!

TOP CLIENT REVIEW – FROM BLACKFOG

As a rapidly growing cybersecurity company, BlackFog has found it critical to deal with recruiters that specialize in key talent. The effort required to do this ourselves was very time consuming to say the least. After our first placement from Vanrath, which was very specialized, we decided to deal with them exclusively, from both a due diligence and time perspective. We have since placed several people in a very short time frame. In fact, one position was so specific Vanrath actually thought outside the box and recruited the perfect individual that was not even looking for a position at the time. We cannot speak more highly of Vanrath as a valued recruiting partner and will be very unlikely to use anyone else in the future for our hiring needs in Belfast.” -Dr. D. Williams, Founder and CEO, BlackFog

It’s always great to get positive client feedback. We have worked with BlackFog to help set up the initial team here in Belfast and we can honestly say it is one of the most exciting companies that have come to NI.

They appreciate the value of a partnership between client and recruiter and with being able to take the time to understand their company goal, team culture and values it really makes for a streamlined process with great results. If you are planning on building your team in NI please contact VANRATH to discuss how we can assist.
