Job Title: HR & Payroll Officer
Location: Newtownabbey
Salary: £28-30k
Duration: Full Time / Permanent


VANRATH are partnering with one of our largest Manufacturing client as they look to appoint a HR & Payroll Officer to the HR Function.

Reporting to the HR Director you will have a broad generalist remit working in all areas of HR and Payroll but will be specifically responsible for processing an automated/computerised weekly payroll.


About you

  • Human Resources OR CIPD qualification (Level 5 minimum).
  • 2+ years' experience in a HR role.
  • Previous experience with payroll

What you'll do

  • Absence management - collection of absence, following policies, administration on letters, support management with meetings and advice
  • Appraisals
  • Apprenticeship programme support
  • Employee engagement schemes
  • Employee relations - appeals, disciplinaries hearings, grievance hearings, both advising and taking part - up to and including dismissal. Lateness, conduct, gross misconduct.
  • Fair Employment Monitoring - Monitoring officer, collect all info from applicants
  • Right to work checks as part of the selection process
  • Recruitment - 3rd party, advertise, selection, interview, offer, induction/onboarding; record all recruitment and candidates
  • Payroll - processing approx. 1.5 days per week, pay rates, pension info and upload each month, TMS, Clock in Machine Set Up, Earnie, payroll analysis and reporting all filed
  • International recruitment - Certificates of Sponsorship, Home Office Support Service, interviewing, BRP,
  • Support with monthly payroll - international employee clock in and hours, collect overtime and absence over the month.
  • Update HR policies, share information on updates to all employees
