Struggling to find a solid work-life balance?

When we asked our network, only 28% said they felt they’d mastered the work-life balance.

Looking at that statistic, it’s clear that many people still struggle finding a balance. So, what steps can we take to help ourselves?

1: Set Boundaries

Establish clear boundaries between work and personal time. Designate specific hours for work and stick to them as much as possible. Avoid checking emails when you’re not at work - better yet, remove work emails entirely from your personal devices! On that note, don’t take work calls outside of work hours either. Protect your personal time.

2: Self-Care, Baby!

Make self-care a non-negotiable part of your routine. Whether it's exercising, meditating, reading a book, or simply taking a long bath, carve out time each day to recharge and nurture your well-being. You can't pour from an empty cup and all that.

3: Learn to say "no"

… and to delegate! Don't be afraid to delegate tasks at work or say no to additional responsibilities that could tip the scales of your work-life balance. It's okay to decline opportunities that don't align with your priorities or values.

4: Schedule Quality Time

Schedule regular quality time with loved ones and activities that bring you joy outside of work. Whether it's a family dinner, movie night with friends, a weekend getaway, or simply lying on the sofa playing games or watching your favourite TV show - prioritise these moments to recharge and reconnect with what matters most TO YOU.

5: Stop Striving for the 'Perfect' Work-Life Balance

Strive for a realistic balance, not a perfect one. Some days work will have to come first, other times it’s family, friends, leisure etc. Balance evolves over time. Assess your needs daily and allow yourself to redirect as needed to help find a balance that works for you at the time.

It's not about achieving perfect balance but finding what works best for you in this hectic world.
