About You:

  • Proven experience in transport management, logistics, or fleet operations within food manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution sectors

  • Hold a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Transport Management (Essential)

  • Strong knowledge of transport regulations, including DVSA, Operator Licences, and health & safety compliance

  • Demonstrable success in cost control, route optimisation, and operational efficiency improvements

  • Leadership skills with experience managing and developing drivers and logistics teams

  • Proficient in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and fleet tracking software

  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities

  • (Desirable) NEBOSH or IOSH certification in health & safety, and experience with telematics and logistics automation

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and manage daily transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries

  • Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and health & safety standards

  • Oversee fleet maintenance and vehicle records, including driver working hours and infringements

  • Monitor and control operational costs, including diesel usage and fleet efficiency

  • Supervise route planning and optimise delivery schedules

  • Manage budgets, invoices, and purchase orders associated with transport operations

  • Provide training and development to your team, fostering a safety-first culture

  • Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across the department

  • Partner with insurance and safety teams to maintain regulatory standards and incident management
