About You:
Proven experience in transport management, logistics, or fleet operations within food manufacturing, FMCG, or distribution sectors
Hold a CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) in Transport Management (Essential)
Strong knowledge of transport regulations, including DVSA, Operator Licences, and health & safety compliance
Demonstrable success in cost control, route optimisation, and operational efficiency improvements
Leadership skills with experience managing and developing drivers and logistics teams
Proficient in Transport Management Systems (TMS) and fleet tracking software
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management capabilities
(Desirable) NEBOSH or IOSH certification in health & safety, and experience with telematics and logistics automation
What You'll Do:
Lead and manage daily transport operations, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries
Ensure compliance with all transport legislation and health & safety standards
Oversee fleet maintenance and vehicle records, including driver working hours and infringements
Monitor and control operational costs, including diesel usage and fleet efficiency
Supervise route planning and optimise delivery schedules
Manage budgets, invoices, and purchase orders associated with transport operations
Provide training and development to your team, fostering a safety-first culture
Engage in continuous improvement initiatives across the department
Partner with insurance and safety teams to maintain regulatory standards and incident management
