Telesales and Retention Advisors (Uncapped Commission)

Job Description

VANRATH are recruiting Telephone Sales & Retention advisors for the largest energy company in the UK and Ireland. This role will initially run for 12 months with high likelihood of extension. The role will initially be Working from Home, but there is potential for relocation to the Belfast City Centre offices. Shifts are held over Monday to Friday (37 hours per week).

The successful Telephone Sales & Retention Advisors will be provided with an exciting development opportunity to gain knowledge of the commercial energy market and to develop new skills across various sales/retention campaigns. Performance related commission is offered based off the achievement of KPI's.


£9.65 per hour (plus uncapped monthly commission offered based off KPI's)


  • Dealing with inbound and making outbound calls to domestic customers
  • Closing sales and retaining existing domestic customers
  • Data capturing to ensure information held is accurate and up to date
  • Developing relationships and managing customer expectations
  • Completion of all back-office procedures to ensure sales/retentions are correctly processed
  • Understand and meet KPI targets: including sales/retentions and compliance, and provide required internal reporting
  • To understand competitors pricing and activity and to report this to team leader
  • To work within the regulator's guidelines and internal compliance procedures to ensure the business is not exposed to complaints

The Ideal Person

  • Experiences with Inbound or Outbound calling in a sales team environment
  • Competent IT skills
  • Use of call centre telephony systems such as Finesse (desirable)
  • Ability to ensure compliance and controls are adhered to
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships
  • Confident individual with a professional communication style
  • Deadline management skills
  • Individual who can work independently to deliver targets, and work with different internal teams to deliver information.
  • Highly committed, driven, dedicated and assertive
