About you
- Third level qualification in a Health and Safety related discipline
- NEBOSH and IOSH qualifications are essential
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior SHEQ role, ideally within the electrical or utilities/infrastructure sector
- Previous electrical industry experience or background preferred
- We are particularly interested in candidates who have worked closely with electrical contractors, utilities providers, or infrastructure projects and who can demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and compliance management skills.
- Full clean driving licence
- Desirable: Train the Trainer certification and First Aid training
- Strong IT skills (MS Office)
- Impeccable attention to detail and proactive attitude
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Positive, confident, and resilient approach to challenging situations
What you'll do
- Develop and maintain health and safety policies, promoting a safety-first culture across all sites
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients regarding SHEQ matters
- Lead on health and safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations
- Conduct safety training sessions and develop induction programmes
- Oversee fire risk assessments, emergency evacuation procedures, and vehicle and PPE compliance
- Manage SHEQ reporting and compliance, ensuring contractual deadlines are met
- Collaborate with HR on wellbeing initiatives and disciplinary actions related to safety
- Continuously improve safety standards and achieve industry accreditations
- Mentor frontline staff and foster a culture of safety excellence
