VANRATH are delighted to be working alongside our client, a leading Logistics organisation based in Lurgan to assist with the recruitment of an experienced Senior Operations Manager based in their modern offices in Lurgan. This is a Monday - Friday position (9.00am - 6.00pm) - Permanent
Salary
£50,000 - £55,000 + Fantastic Benefits Package
Responsibilities
Warehouse and Yard Operations - Leading, motivating and engaging Warehouse Operatives through a team of Operations Managers and Team Leaders. Efficient and timely deployment of resources to match service levels within an agreed budget. Review workloads and manpower to ensure KPI targets are met. Coordinate activities that affect operational decisions and business requirements. Prepare operational commentary for KPI's.
Communication - Act as a fulcrum for all staff communications incl daily shift meeting. Participate effectively with all partners (Transport Planners, Suppliers etc) involved in supporting day to day activities to guarantee smooth operations.
Stock Control - Ensure stock management processes are adhered to and supported by accurate inventory checks.
Health and Safety - Ensure that regulations within the warehouse and yard are fully adhered to.
Operational Excellence - KPI dashboards. Agreeing a set of continuous improvement projects and managing their implementation
Facilities Management - Responsible for management of all site facilities in support of a safe, efficient and reliable working environment including chiller, cross dock, offices, yard and operating equipment
People - Timely recruiting and selecting agency and permanent operatives. Timely completion of Annual Performance Review and Personal Development Programmes. Proactive management of associate performance.
Technical Compliance - Managing the process for ensuring compliance on key internal and external audits. Maintain daily site housekeeping standards to required levels.
Administration - Creation of vehicle manifests and suppliers POD packs for drivers. Booking of vehicles on ferries.
Trailers - Ensure trailer availability for successful of cross dock operation. Ensure daily publication of trailer requisitions.
Customer Equipment - Provision of movement and stock figures as requested by suppliers & retailers
Shunter vehicles - Management & road worthiness of Shunter vehicles incl Pre start-up checks
Facilities Management - Responsible for management of all site facilities in support of a safe, efficient and reliable working environment including chiller, cross dock, offices, yard and operating equipment
People Management - Create an engaged and productive working environment for all staff. Ensure timely completion of Annual Performance Reviews and Personal Development Programmes. Create a training environment and a talent funnel for upskilling of warehouse operatives / shunter drivers to HGV drivers
The Ideal Person:
High-Level Operations Manager experience
Essential to come from a Warehousing & Logistics and/or Food background
An ability to operate in a range of situations from the shop floor to client reviews
An understanding of engagement and motivational tools and techniques
Have an understanding of the key cost drivers within a business and how to affect them
Has the ability to run small projects independently
Can take a decision based on limited information
Has the ability to work with a site management team in order to achieve wider business goals that may be detrimental to the warehouse and yard department
