VANRATH are pleased to be working with an industry leading global firm who are recruiting for a high calibre candidate to fill the role of Security & Data Compliance Senior Manager.

The Ideal Person

  • Demonstrate significant experience of and subject matter expertise concerning cyber security operations including incident management, cloud security (and if possible DevSecOps) and IT infrastructure security.
  • Demonstrate experience of security logging / data investigation tools such as ELK.
  • Demonstrate strong people management skills in order to engage and motivate the operational teams in what will sometimes be demanding / time critical situations. Possess an instinctive focus on the wellbeing of the team.
  • Demonstrate energy and tenacity and the ability to support the team through high visibility incidents.
  • Be able to communicate well visually (through slides and pictures).



Role

The Security & Data Compliance Senior Manager is a key member of the Global Information Security leadership team. In the context of the wider global Information Security function the job is focused tactically on operational service delivery and strategically on the evolution of the service delivery model for both digital security and data compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine the data compliance operating model for the firm (the 'How' to the Data Privacy 'What).
  • Provide leadership and people management for the day to day data retention service (in Belfast) and workload Singapore).
  • Engage with the lines of business concerning the implementation of data retention policy and attend the data privacy council governance group.
  • Support the CISO in the evolution of cyber security operations capability in which the major themes of a) Increasing use of automation b) Increasing use of cloud compute c) Increasing data on the move d) Increasing amounts of custom written software e) AI as an assistant and an adversary f) Heightened rate of change g) Simplification of our technical security controls, and h) Threat hunting, are key focus areas.
  • People manage the team which provides the operational cyber protection service (in Belfast) and workload manage the teams in Singapore and New York.
  • Design and publish the monthly management reporting pack for security operations.
