Job description

VANRATH have partnered with a well-established and growing supplier within the construction supplies sector across Northern Ireland. The organisation is looking to recruit a Sales Representative for their trade counter serving the construction industry.

The successful candidate will work within the company's Belfast branch.

This is an excellent opportunity for a customer-focused individual to join a busy and supportive team environment. If you have experience in customer service or sales and enjoy working in a fast-paced setting, this could be a great fit for you - This role is full-time and permanent.


Responsibilities:

Bringing together a passion for customer service and a proactive approach to sales, you will take personal responsibility for:

  • Providing a warm and professional welcome to all customers at the trade counter.
  • Taking the time to understand customer needs and offering appropriate product advice.
  • Processing transactions accurately using point-of-sale systems, including handling payments and issuing receipts.
  • Identifying opportunities to upsell additional products and maximise sales.
  • Maintaining an organised, clean and well-stocked trade counter area.
  • Monitoring stock levels and replenishing shelves as required, escalating low stock levels to management.
  • Handling customer enquiries both in person and over the phone in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Processing customer orders for collection.
  • Supporting colleagues during busy periods to ensure a smooth and efficient service.
  • Assisting with general warehouse duties as required.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in a customer-facing or sales-led environment.
  • You will be self-motivated with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • A good KPI-focused sales background
  • Basic numeracy skills and attention to detail are essential for handling transactions accurately.
  • You will be confident in upselling products in a helpful and consultative manner.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to support the wider team is key.
