Salary: £14.52 per hour
Hours: 18 hours per week
Contract: Initial Interim Contract

VANRATH are delighted to be supporting a key public sector client in the Newry area with the recruitment of a Part-Time Reception / Administrative Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and customer-focused individual to join a busy front-facing environment, providing essential support across reception and administration.

The Role

The successful candidate will act as a first point of contact, delivering a professional and welcoming service while supporting day-to-day administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the first point of contact, managing enquiries via telephone, email and in person
  • Operate a busy switchboard and direct queries to relevant departments
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry, and document management
  • Manage bookings, diaries, and internal systems efficiently
  • Handle cash payments and maintain accurate financial records
  • Support the preparation of reports and maintain up-to-date records
  • Assist with general office coordination and ensure a professional reception environment


About You

  • Previous experience in a reception, customer service or administrative role
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to deal with the public in a professional manner
  • Competent in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Experience handling cash or financial transactions (desirable)
