Project Support Officer (Immediate Start)

Job Description

Our client, a well-known public sector organisation is looking for an efficient and self-motivated project support officer to join their busy Programmes team. To be responsible for all administrative procedures associated with spend and allocation of grant aid in relation to Government funded economic development programmes.

The Ideal Person

  • A third level qualification, HNC, HND, NVQ Level 4, a degree or equivalent
  • At least threeyears' experience in
    • Providing administrative support in the delivery of local economic development programmes involving Government or EU funding to include the NI Rural Development Programme.
    • Completing claims reconciliation for administration spend in excess of £200,000 per annum and project grant spend in excess of £245,000.
    • Assisting officials from Government & EU Funding Managing Agents to undertake prescribed audits of expenditure and good governance systems to include officials from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development
    • Undertaking research to inform the development of projects and programmes of work.
    • Planning and managing the delivery of events such as workshops and information sessions.
    • Project monitoring and evaluation of economic development programmes


Responsibilities

  • To process and verify all administrative expenditure incurred by Government & EU funded programmes in line with programme regulations to include expenditure related to the related programmes.
  • To implement procedures and financial control systems in accordance with the Programmes Operating Manuals of Government & EU funded programmes, and in accordance to the Council's Accounting Manual and departmental monitoring systems.
  • To assist the Programmes Manager by providing accurate and timely financial information on administrative and project spend. To further provide advice on related issues such as eligibility of expenditure and procurement.
  • To ensure the collation and production of service and performance information, including information and reports for Committees and the Labour Market Partnership using appropriate data and statistics.
  • To liaise with other departments, internal and external auditors, external agencies, Government & Funding Managing Agents to include the relevant government departments to ensure accountability.
