Payroll and Financial Administrator
VANRATH are pleased to be recruiting for a Payroll and Financial Administrator, for a well-known manufacture in Greater Belfast. Our client manufactures high-quality products for a range of sectors and distributes their sought-after products across the UK and Ireland. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will play a pivotal role in the day-today running of the payroll and finance function.

The Role
This role will focus on weekly, biweekly, and monthly payroll for around 60 staff members, as well as financial administration as requested by the Company Accountant. Working in a close-knit finance team, you will gain experience across a wide range responsibilities:

  • Full end to end payroll to include:

- Collating weekly and monthly timesheets
- Process payroll using Sage
- Producing payroll reports, payslips, BACS payments and full payment submission to HMRC

  • Processing of starters and leavers to include coding notices and P45's
  • Payroll year end completion
  • Completion of wage and salary journals for accounts
  • Calculate and submit monthly HMRC liability
  • Administration of yearly pay reviews
  • Auto enrolment pension administration and payment through pension providers online dashboard
  • Maintaining the Time Management System for payroll processing, holidays and absences
  • Calculation of monthly commission and expenses
  • Completion of Supplementary Declarations for imported goods through the Trader Support Services portal
  • Input of waste packaging regulations data and EPR data
  • General administration - wide ranging


The Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in financial administration, or exceptional experience in an administrative based role. Payroll experience is not essential, but is preferred.

  • Strong administrative experience
  • Highly numeric
  • Excel confident
  • Sage50 experience is preferable
  • Ability to work on own initiative and also work with a small professional team, and be discreet
  • Attention to detail and accuracy is essential
  • Good organisational skills and time management
