Job description

Litigation Solicitor / Senior Associate - Major Injury & Casualty
📍 Belfast (Hybrid Working)

I'm currently working with a well-established legal practice looking to strengthen its Major Injury & Casualty team in Belfast. This is a great opportunity for a Litigation Solicitor or Senior Associate to join a busy and highly regarded team handling complex, high-value claims.

The Role
You'll manage a diverse caseload of litigated matters, including Employers' Liability, Public Liability, casualty, disease and personal/serious injury claims. The work is varied and often complex, offering strong exposure to high-quality litigation and the chance to work closely with experienced colleagues and key clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Running litigated cases from instruction through to resolution
  • Conducting investigations, including evidence gathering and liaising with experts
  • Drafting pleadings, witness statements and settlement documentation
  • Providing clear, strategic legal advice to clients
  • Representing clients in court proceedings and settlement negotiations
  • Keeping up to date with legal developments and applying these in practice
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the wider team
  • Ensuring compliance with all regulatory and professional standards

About You

  • Qualified Solicitor with 1-10+ years' PQE in litigation
  • Experience in EL/PL, casualty, disease or personal injury work (other litigation experience will also be considered)
  • Strong knowledge of litigation procedures and relevant law
  • Ability to manage a busy caseload with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • A collaborative and proactive approach

Experience with complex or high-value claims would be advantageous.

What's on Offer

  • High-quality, varied litigation work
  • A supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Clear opportunities for progression and development
  • Hybrid working (Belfast office attendance required weekly)
  • Competitive salary and benefits
