IT Support Officer - Band 5

Job Description

VANRATH are delighted to be assisting our Public Sector client in the recruitment of an Band 5 - IT Support Officer to join their highly skilled data team on an initial 4 month contract and based in Outer Belfast

The Client

The organisation has a huge presence across Northern Ireland and the UK and provide essential services across all communities. This is an immediate job opportunity and the successful candidate will enjoy working on a multitude of highly impactful projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide end user support and undertake complex fault diagnosis and resolution for the full range of IT Systems
  • Maintain an accurate inventory in the Help Desk Management System of computer hardware and software
  • Assist the Service Manager in the formulation of policy, procedures, standards and guidance for both technical operations staff and users of the ICT Solutions
  • Assist in the installation, testing, repair and maintenance of all new and existing hardware and software applications
  • To monitor and maintain stock control and supplies for IT Department
  • Undertake site visits for the repair, maintenance and assessment of requirements for planned/proposed IT developments

The Ideal Person:

  • Working knowledge and experience of Microsoft desktop application software and Windows 2003 server
  • experience in the installation and support of the full range of network based computer equipment
  • Working knowledge and experience of Help Desk Management Systems
  • Active Directory Experience
  • Previous IT Support experience
  • ITIL Foundation certificate desirable

Remuneration:

Band 5 - £25,600
