Job Description

VANRATH are assisting a multinational law firm with the recruitment of an IT Service Delivery Manager

The IT Service Design Manager will develop service designs and support models for projects delivering solutions that will be maintained by IT Infrastructure & Operations. You will require strong all round knowledge and experience in service management including ITIL, ITSM toolsets, service architecture, the business service catalogue and operational implications. You will be working across project and operational teams to ensure the supportability of IT solutions. You will report to the IT Process Manager and work closely with the SM Management Team.

This is a Fixed Term Contract of 24 Months. Initially this role will be working from home based.

Remuneration:

£48,000 - £66,000 + Additional Excellent Benefits from a major Multinational Firm (Industry leading benefits)

Responsibilities

  • Act as a consultant as required within the department to manage the impact of service design & transition on multiple areas of the IT function, and anticipate and react to changing business needs
  • On-going marketing & training of IT support models within IT and providing a high level of support for establishing these models across global IT functions.
  • Analyse all current IT support procedures and processes and drive improvements that could be implemented, as part of an agreed support roadmap
  • Take a detailed view of risk involved in projects and programmes, and ensures that appropriate mitigation and controls are in place (i.e. release, change, availability management etc.)
  • Maintain and develop the catalogue of IT services to ensure that it accurately reflects the services offered by the IT department globally
  • Accountable for negotiating, agreeing and maintaining the SLAs with projects, working with architects, Project Managers, IT Relationship Managers and IT regional stakeholders
  • Work with Project Managers, operational teams/Supplier Manager to ensure SLAs have underpinning agreement/contracts (OLA)
  • Responsile for ensuring that both existing and new support models adopt suitable controls, likely to be both technology and process based.
  • Detailed understanding of the ITIL / ISO processes and the sharing of this knowledge with others to ensure conformity with company standards and processes
  • Ensure patching policies & coverage are included in support models and extend beyond just security vulnerabilities


Ideal Person:

  • Excellent all-round technology knowledge and practical experience of the majority of technologies within this discipline.
  • Strong practical knowledge of the operation and maintenance of IT infrastructure and services within a Microsoft technology environment.
  • Minimum 5 years IT experience with at least 3years in a service management or service operations role
  • Working knowledge of IT service design and transition in a large or complex organisation.
  • Experience of working in a global environment across international locations with an appreciation of multiple cultures
