The Ideal Person

This post holder will report to the IT Manager and will be accountable to the IT Project Board in relation to the ongoing day to day management of the projects. The post holder will manage the implementation of the projects on a day to day basis on behalf of the Project Board within the constraints of time and cost and is responsible for the project producing a result that achieves the deliverables agreed with the Project Board. The ideal candidate needs to have the following experience;

  • Prince2 / PMP Certification
  • Effective IT project management experience including managing and monitoring project budgets.
  • Working collaboratively with key stakeholders including employees & external suppliers
  • Experience of managing risks, actions, issues & dependencies,
  • Ability to write reports and effective documents for internal and external recipients.
  • A working knowledge of procurement processes


Responsibilities

As the IT Project Manager, you will:

  • Lead and co-ordinate the procurement and implementation of the multiple projects across IT Services within defined timescales and budget.
  • Oversee assigned project implementation activities, managing both business and IT personnel through the delivery phase.
  • Review, finalise and progress the Project Initiation Document (PID) and the Statement of Requirements, ensuring that the PID is updated by the Project Board.
  • Report on progress against agreed timescales, costs etc. and will also manage any issues which may arise with 3rd party suppliers.
  • Project Planning, including test plans, cut-over plans and training plans
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with the IT Services and wider Portfolio Office, the Project Management Board, and other key stakeholders to fully manage and understand dependencies across different departments within the respective projects
