The Ideal Person

University degree or equivalent professional qualification and worked for at least 3 years in a middle management role within Human Resources which clearly demonstrates the following:
(i)experience of contributing to large scale change projects with successful outcomes
(ii)experience of work force planning
(iii)experience of conducting analysis of difficult HR issues and providing realistic solutions
(iv) Experience of leading in the development of HR policies and protocols.

Responsibilities

The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner will provide strategic HR advice, guidance and consultancy support to Directorates on HR related issues and will be supported by the HR functions based in the organisation. The post holder will play a lead role in facilitating the people aspect of any management of change, providing professional support to develop and proactively work towards delivering the People Strategy to achieve the Organisation's corporate objectives.
The post holder will be the primary interface with senior managers in the service area for all HR services. In addition they will contribute to the delivery of overall organisational goals.
The post holder will also be required to support the Senior HR Manager / Assistant Director with designated Functional HR work and HR Service Improvement initiatives across the Human Resources & Corporate Services Directorate.

As the HR Business Partner you will:

  • Influence and supports the delivery of organisational objectives, People Plan/Strategy, organisational design and workforce plans in the Directorate.
  • Develop sound working relationships with relevant key stakeholders to ensure the effective contribution of the workforce within the strategic direction of the Directorate and Organisation.
  • Identify and progress the people issues in any planning processes to ensure the HR agenda is included at an early stage in all plans and strategies.
  • Analyse workforce information and productivity measures and develop strategies and plans to ensure that the workforce supports current and future performance targets.
  • Contribute to the development and review of key workforce performance and intelligence data to inform business decisions.
  • Take the HR lead on change management projects within the Directorate, including introduction of new ways of working, and re-organisation of service this will for example, include analysis of workforce intelligence, research and scoping of best practice and legislative requirements. The post holder will be expected to deliver innovative solutions to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Actively contribute to the design, development and delivery of HR strategy, policy, practice and operation of HR Business Partnering service within the organisation.
