Job Title: Full-Time HR & People Lead

Location: Northern Ireland

Introduction / Overview

VANRATH is partnering with a respected NI-based organisation to recruit an HR Officer. This is a hands-on role focused on developing a strong HR framework within a growing business. You will ensure compliance and consistency across all people processes, act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, and support a positive, high-performing workplace culture.

About You / Candidate Requirements

  • Proven experience in an HR Advisor, Senior HR Officer, or generalist HR role
  • Strong knowledge of Northern Ireland employment law, particularly contracts, policies, and employee relations
  • Experience managing end-to-end recruitment processes
  • Practical experience with performance management frameworks, KPIs, and appraisals
  • Confident handling disciplinary, grievance, absence, and capability cases
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of an HR function
  • Comfortable advising and influencing senior stakeholders
  • High levels of discretion, integrity, and professionalism
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Desirable: experience in engineering, manufacturing, construction, or operational environments
  • Desirable: exposure to payroll and benefits administration systems
  • Commitment to continuous professional development

What You'll Do / Key Responsibilities

  • Own and develop HR policies, handbook, and procedures to ensure compliance and consistency
  • Lead end-to-end recruitment, from job design through to onboarding
  • Manage performance processes, including KPIs, probation reviews, and appraisals
  • Provide trusted HR advice to managers and senior leadership
  • Handle employee relations cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, and absence management
  • Ensure contracts and HR documentation are accurate and compliant
  • Support training, development, and succession planning
  • Promote a positive, engaging workplace culture and wellbeing
  • Liaise with payroll to ensure accurate data processing
  • Administer employee benefits and support ongoing improvements
