HR Manager (Manufacturing Sector)
County Armagh


VANRATH is delighted to be partnering with a global food manufacturer based in the Co. Armagh area, wishing to appoint a HR Manager on a full-time permanent basis.
The HR Manager will provide and lead an effective generalist HR function, providing support and guidance to the team on all people related matters.


The role is ideally suited to an experienced Senior Generalist / Advisor, who has some line management exposure or current responsibility, combined with strong ER skillset, great communication skills and ready to the next step in their career!


The Role


The HR Manager will also advise and where appropriate, lead on organisation development initiatives and driving an agenda of engagement throughout the site, developing strong and effective working relationships with all Employees and Employee Representatives.


Responsibilities

  • To develop and lead the Site HR development plan, reporting on progress against HR objectives.

  • Develop, implement, monitor and evaluate HR Policies and Procedures in line with best practice, legal and organisational requirements

  • Manage the recruitment process and on-boarding plan for all new employees, ensuring regular communication and performance reviews throughout the probationary period

  • Contribute to companywide talent / succession planning processes.

  • Work closely with the Group Learning and Development Manager to coordinate L&D activities - Develop site / department L&D plan, organise L&D activities and measure / evaluate effectiveness of training interventions to demonstrate return on investment.

  • Where appropriate coach and mentor other leaders and managers within the organisation on best practice leadership and management interaction with employees.

  • Coordinate performance management system and provide support and guidance on all aspects of performance management.

  • Lead by example, promote and embed a working culture based on dignity and respect.

  • Provide guidance and support in all disputes resolution matters and, where necessary, take a leadership role, particularly where the issues are complex or represent significant risk.

  • Ensure Employment Relations is a focus of all managers within the organisation by maintaining a productive relationship with Employee Representatives and Regional Officials, and guiding the Management team in same.

  • Establish and manage site HR budget and produce monthly HR KPI s, identifying trends and problem areas and possible solutions where necessary.

  • Benchmark site HR performance indicators against industry standards.



The Person

  • Degree level educated
  • CIPD qualification
  • A minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience working in a Senior Advisory / Generalist capacity, ideally within the manufacturing or food related sector
  • Unionised experience desriable
