Job Description


VANRATH are partnering with our client, a reputable public sector organisation, to find a Higher Scientific Office to join their team in the Food Research Branch.

The role
Full-time 37 hrs p/w
Mon-Fri | 9am-5pm | possibility of some flexibility on arrangement

Renumeration
£32000 - £33000 per annum

The ideal person(s)

  • Experience of GC-MS
  • Experience of writing scientific papers
  • PhD or equivalent research experience
  • Willingness to travel to contribute to sensory panels in Great Britain.



Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver GC-MS analyses for a number of customers, including DAERA E&I projects and commercial organisations.
  • Analyse complex data sets from GC-MS analysis using MassHunter and Mass Profiler Professional software.
  • Contribute to the management and delivery of sensory panels both in Belfast and across the British Isles.
  • Act as Quality Representative for FRB for ISO9001.


The successful candidate may also be asked to assist with the following tasks, as required:

  • Develop and validate new methods.
  • Deliver other research and analyses.
  • Assist with training of students.
  • Contribute to the writing of scientific papers and reports.
  • Delivery of events.
  • Quality assurance.
