About you

  • Minimum 5 years' experience managing health and safety within food manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Used to the pace and the diverse risk profile
  • Strong knowledge of UK and NI health and safety legislation
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Proven leadership and people management abilities
  • Relevant third-level qualification

Desirable:

  • NEBOSH Diploma, NVQ Level 6 (or equivalent)
  • Knowledge of SMETA and ethical trading standards
  • Previous operational experience within the food manufacturing sector
  • Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH) or working towards

What you'll do

  • Lead and optimise the site's health and safety management system, ensuring ISO 45001 compliance
  • Investigate incidents, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions
  • Monitor safety performance through KPIs, developing improvement strategies
  • Conduct risk assessments, audits, and prepare for external inspections and audits
  • Manage contractor safety standards and oversee permit-to-work procedures
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies such as HSENI and HSE
  • Develop and test emergency response plans through regular drills
  • Support operational teams on risk mitigation, safe systems of work, and statutory compliance
  • Drive safety communication, training, and culture enhancement initiatives
