My Client:

VanRath are pleased to be recruiting for a Group Accountant for a leading organisation based in the Magherafelt area. This is a new role which has arisen due to an internal restructure/company growth and could lead to a permanent role for a strong performer. Ideally the interim appointment will commence within a quick turnaround time and preference will be given to relevant candidates with little to no notice period. The initial role will be predominantly remote-based and will run for a minimum of 6 months with strong possibility for extension thereafter.

The Role:

Reporting to the Finance Director, the purpose of the role is to play a prominent role in the finance department, providing clear and decisive monthly reporting. Duties are as follows:

  • Specific responsibility for production of monthly management accounts for multiple companies' management and support the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and audits across the groups.
  • Manage & support Finance team with daily operational queries
  • Completing Sales Reconciliations & Gross Margin Analysis to produce monthly company sector profitability statements for each of the sector managers, senior management team and board
  • Ad hoc analysis and provision of financial advice as required to support Finance Team, decision-making and monitoring of financial performance.
  • Stock process and management of valuation
  • Overseeing Intercompany recharges and intercompany management support charges and reporting
  • Completion of Government Forms and surveys when necessary
  • Cash management and group cash planning
  • Payroll Journals and reconciliation
  • Management of Financial regulations, Tax, audit, IPR, Tax Credits


The Ideal Candidate:

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent level QBE
  • Third level education in an accountancy or business related field (desirable)
  • Experience of operating within a medium to large organisation
  • Experience of producing management accounts including full profit and loss, cash flow and balance sheet reviews
  • Experience of managing Company bank accounts including reconciliation, balance sheet reporting and cash flow
  • Experience of Microsoft products, particularly Excel spread sheets
  • Prior knowledge of Sage 200 (desirable)



Remuneration:

c.£45-50k
