About you:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent); part-qualified candidates with significant relevant experience may also be considered
  • Strong background in management accounting, statutory reporting, and financial processes
  • Proven leadership and supervisory skills
  • Experience working within computerised accounting systems (ideally Sage Payroll, Microsoft Navision/Business Central)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Attention to detail with a "right first time" approach
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, with a proactive mindset
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and ROI for stock takes and audits

What you'll do:

  • Lead and support the Group Accounts team, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting
  • Prepare management and statutory accounts, budgets, and financial forecasts
  • Oversee compliance with VAT, statutory regulations, and other statutory obligations
  • Manage external audits, including liaising with auditors during year-end processes
  • Support subsidiary companies with financial data accuracy, process improvements, and issue resolution
  • Travel to subsidiary sites to oversee stock takes and ensure proper financial procedures are followed
  • Ensure operational activities such as payroll, debtor collection, and statutory surveys are completed efficiently
  • Drive continuous process improvements to optimise financial operations
