The role:

Reporting to the Managing Directors and the Financial Controller, this Group Accountant role supports the delivery of the overall group strategy through the delivery of timely and accurate financial and management information

Core Responsibilities include;

  • Assist with the preparing and submitting the monthly management accounts, both on a consolidated and individual basis for all companies.
  • Assist with reporting on budgets, cashflow, as well as any other internal/external reporting requirements
  • Production of KPI reports on sales, products, driving routes, customers etc.
  • Assist in the production of the annual Statutory Financial Statements for all companies within the group and assist in managing the year end consolidation process
  • Assistance with maintenance of IT systems, review current IT systems with a view to researching and implementing new software
  • Contribution to the annual budgeting cycles, including reviewing margins and product lines

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Qualified accountant / QBE / Part Qualified and up to date on current accounting standards and practices
  • Good communication and networking skills across all levels
  • Must be able to demonstrate good attention to detail, good judgement showing logical decision making and a hands-on approach
  • Proven ability to develop and improve working procedures and processes
  • Highly organised and efficient with ability to work under pressure, manage a diverse and competing workload ensuring deadlines are met
  • IT literate, and proficient in Sage 50 accounts and Excel.
