Financial Controller (Hybrid)

Job Description

VANRATH have partnered with a leading multinational company and are delighted to have an opportunity for an experienced Financial Controller to join busy & dynamic team in Belfast.

Their customer base is global and includes private and public sectors through digital solutions.

This senior finance position will oversee the month-end reporting process and ensure accurate and timely inputs are received from the wider team, providing guidance, ensuring integrity at all times, and communicating appropriate messaging to stakeholders.

Additionally, this role will lead on the outlook/forecast process ensuring insight, timeliness and accuracy across the team through proactive thought, rigour, leadership and an ability to drive innovative solutions.

The role will require occasional travel within the UK but will offer flexible/agile working.


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure management reporting is accurate, insightful and drives appropriate behaviour; influencing day to day business operations by focused financial analysis (P&L and balance sheet)
  • Work proactively with the business to shape the business strategy, creating, leading and implementing the finance agenda to support delivery of business objectives
  • Manage the monthly outlook process, ensuring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Demonstrate full understanding of Risks & Opportunities which underpin the submission, including key performance metrics and their relationship with the financial performance of the business.
  • Lead on the strategic corporate plan, ensuring engagement with all relevant stakeholders, quality output is produced, and delivery within the required timelines.
  • Ensure appropriate financial governance is implemented, including effective processes and controls are designed and delivered.
  • Oversee the internal audit ensuring audit queries are being addressed on a timely basis, and providing ongoing updates.
  • Proactively partner with SMT, challenging and supporting the business on the right commercial outcomes.
  • Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the business, acting like a trusted partner
  • Effective management of team, leading and setting direction, providing technical advice and coaching



Experience & Qualifications:

  • Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc)
  • High attention to detail
  • Strong Analytical skill
  • Effective Communicator
  • Significant Senior Stakeholder experience and working within highly matrixed environments.
  • Experience of working with Commercial teams to deliver the unit financials
  • Ability to interpret financials into meaningful insight, to inform decision making.
  • Must be able to create a clear
  • vision, delivering against key metrics
  • Demonstrates an extremely high level of analytical capability
  • A strong track record of delivering robust financial governance
  • An excellent track record of effectively influencing the stakeholder requirements
  • Experience of leading a team of Finance professionals
