Client

VANRATH are delighted to be recruiting a Financial Accountant to join a manufacturing business in Greater Belfast. This role is initially to cover a period of maternity and will be 9-12 months in duration. To be considered for this role it is essential to have experience in a similar role.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will be a key member of the finance team. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks including maintaining fixed asset schedule and capital spend forecast, preparing annual audit file and preparing month end journals.

The initial training period will be office based, however hybrid working will be applicable following this.

The Ideal Person

If you have experience in a similar role and possess financial accounting experience:

  • Fully of Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong understanding of general accounting processes & internal controls
  • Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
  • Experience with standard costing (desirable)
  • Strong IT systems

Responsibilities

As a Financial Accountant you will:

  • Prepare month-end journals for all sections of the accounts file
  • Timely preparation of management accounts including control account and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Month-end sales reconciliations
  • Inventory reconciliation
  • Producing financial reporting packs
