About you
- Experience working within a SME environment or similar busy operation
- Strong understanding of accounting systems, ideally Xero
- Proficient in reconciliations, invoicing, credit control, and financial reporting
- Able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and professionalism
- Good communication skills and a proactive mindset
- Part-qualified or qualified accountants (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) are a plus
What you'll do
- Lead the preparation of monthly management accounts, providing insightful analysis to inform decision-making
- Oversee debt management, credit control, and payment reconciliation to maintain healthy cash flow
- Process month-end invoicing and generate detailed financial reports for senior management
- Reconcile bank accounts regularly to ensure accuracy and up-to-date records
- Prepare quarterly VAT returns and support compliance requirements
- Support payroll processes by collating timesheets, holidays, and other relevant data
- Assist in cost analysis and participate in cost reduction projects to improve profitability
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and contribute to ongoing financial improvements
- Manage daily accounts inbox, post, and respond in a timely and accurate manner
- Handle invoicing, credit control, and debtor management for a range of clients and suppliers
- Process remittances and ensure timely payments to suppliers or customers as required
- Assist in general financial reporting and day-to-day transactional activities, supporting the wider finance team
