Client

VANRATH are delighted to be working with a recognisable Housing Association based in Belfast who are currently recruiting a Finance Assistant to join their team. Initially this role will be for a period of 3 - 6 months, with the opportunity to secure a permanent contract.

Reporting the Head of Finance, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in the daily operations of the finance function as well as getting involved in the month end process. This is an opportunity for a candidate who is currently studying their professional exams to secure a role with an organisation who can offer that important month end exposure.

The Ideal Person

If you've 2+ years' experience working in an Accounts role and are available at short notice:

  • Comfortable with purchase and sales ledger
  • Experience of month end procedures
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Strong IT skills including a computerised accounting system

Responsibilities

As a Finance Assistant you will:

  • Post and review purchase ledger transactions
  • Supplier statement reconciliations
  • Processing intercompany recharges
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparing the Fixed Assets
  • Assist month end process
