Facilities Manager
Location: Belfast
Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 per annum
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Facilities Manager to lead the management and maintenance of a large manufacturing site. This role will suit a hands-on manager with strong technical expertise and a proven ability to drive cost efficiencies and continuous improvement across all aspects of facilities management.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all plant facilities services including water, compressors, heating systems, cranes, waste disposal, cleaning services and building maintenance.
- Manage service contracts and evaluate whether services are best provided in-house or through external suppliers.
- Lead a facilities team of engineers and operators, ensuring all planned, reactive and preventative maintenance schedules are met.
- Monitor and drive cost savings in energy usage (gas and electricity) across the site.
- Prepare feasibility studies, costings, project plans and technical specifications for all facilities projects.
- Project-manage installations, commissioning and energy-improvement projects, keeping stakeholders informed.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety legislation and industry standards (including IATF16949, ISO 50001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001).
- Develop TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and RCM (Reliability Centred Maintenance) practices for facilities equipment.
- Produce and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for cost and contract performance.
- Support recruitment, development and performance management of the facilities team, maintaining high standards of safety, efficiency and employee engagement.
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience managing facilities in a large industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to coach and develop a team.
- Excellent understanding of maintenance practices, energy management and cost control.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to write technical specifications and manage suppliers and contractors.
- Knowledge of health & safety regulations and compliance with ISO standards.
- Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
