Data Scientist - Junior

Job Description


My client is the leader in communications compliance, archiving, and analytics. My client provide compliance across the broadest set of communications channels with insights on what's being captured.

This business has customers manage over 500 million daily conversations across 80 channels and growing. Customers include the top 10 U.S., top 8 European, top 5 Canadian, and top 3 Asian banks. This Software's advantage is customers stay ahead of compliance and uncover patterns and relationships hidden within their data.
Data Science is responsible for excellence in machine learning and analytics solution delivery to prospects as part of proof-of-concept engagements, and clients as part of production or pilot engagements. This is achieved through the application of rigorous data science methodology for solution refinement to client or prospect requirements. In addition, the data science function is responsible for research, development and validation of existing and new analytics.
Essential Functions

  • Personal development following guidance from senior team members
  • Development of machine learning models and other analytics following established workflows and methodology
  • Translate client lexicons to support use in the Conduct Intelligence platform for alert generation
  • Develop and maintain customer facing documentation
  • Exploratory data analysis and model fail state analysis
  • Data annotation and quality review
  • Methodology, results and insights reporting, including model Governance report drafting in collaboration with senior team members
  • Developing knowledge of relevant domain application of data science
  • Client/prospect guidance in analytics fine-tuning/development


Education and Experience

  • Industry experience not required
  • Credit for past internship experience
  • 1-3 years experience in data and analytics role, or academic equivalent


Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills, with a keen interest in customer engagement
  • Foundational knowledge of key statistical concepts (e.g. probability, distributions, statistical

testing)

  • Foundational knowledge of key programming concepts (e.g. split-apply-combine, data structures, object-oriented programming)
  • Knowledge of SQL and No-SQL database technology is a plus
  • Experience programming with python or R is a plus
  • Knowledge of Regular Expression
  • Strong written and verbal comprehension
  • Strong collaborator
  • Good at taking direction from senior project team members, with a keenness to learn
