Job description

Commercial Contracts Solicitor (In-House) - Belfast

We are delighted to be partnering with a well-established and growing organisation to appoint a Commercial Contracts Solicitor to join their in-house legal team in Belfast.

This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor looking to move in-house or further develop their in-house career, working at the heart of a dynamic and forward-thinking business. You'll gain exposure to high-value commercial contracts, innovative projects, and an evolving regulatory landscape, including emerging areas of technology and data.

The Role

As part of a high-performing legal team, you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, delivering practical, commercially focused legal advice that directly impacts business decisions.

This is a varied and hands-on role, where you will be involved in:

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
  • Advising on contractual, legal and regulatory issues affecting the business
  • Supporting key business projects and strategic initiatives
  • Identifying and managing legal and commercial risk
  • Liaising with external counsel where required
  • Contributing to governance, compliance and continuous process improvement

You will also benefit from exposure to sector-specific legal issues and emerging areas, including technology, data, and regulatory developments - making this a genuinely interesting and future-focused position.

The Candidate

This role will suit a commercially minded solicitor who enjoys being close to the business and taking a pragmatic, solutions-driven approach to legal challenges.

You will ideally:

  • Have 5+ years' PQE with experience in commercial contracts
  • Possess strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Be confident engaging with stakeholders across different business areas
  • Demonstrate a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Be comfortable managing your own workload in a fast-paced environment

Experience working in-house, or exposure to sectors such as technology, infrastructure or regulated industries, would be advantageous - but is not essential.

The Opportunity

  • Join a high-performing and well-regarded in-house legal team
  • Work on high-quality, commercially focused matters with real business impact
  • Gain exposure to innovative projects and evolving legal areas
  • Be part of a supportive and collaborative environment
  • Excellent scope for career development and progression
  • Salary circa £75,000 + bonus + industry-leading benefits package
