Business Support Officer

Job Description

VANRATH are recruiting for a dynamic Business Support Officer to contribute to the delivery and promotion of quality, customer focused and innovative Building Control services. This is a full-time role within a large Public Sector organisation, secured until June 30 2023 with potential to extend beyond.


Remuneration
This role offers a starting salary of circa £22,571 (£11.70 p/h) with full holiday allowance and benefits exclusive to VANRATH


Responsibilities:
The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a wide range of professional, technical and administration support services to staff working within the Building Control Section of the Organisation.

Providing effective and efficient handling of callers and enquiries, including professional and technical advice and signposting associated with all functions delivered by the Service.

They will also facilitate wider corporate business continuity aims as part of a flexible Business Support team.


The ideal candidate:
Essential

  • Possess a minimum of 5 GCSE passes to include Maths and English language (grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy.*
  • A qualification that demonstrates competency in working with office technology i.e. Word Processing or Typewriting.
  • A minimum of one year's relevant Business Support experience in an office environment to include:
  1. Effective use of computerised information management systems.
  2. Working as part of a team to deliver frontline customer service to members of the public and/or external organisations.
  3. The ability to deal efficiently with large volumes of work and prioritise competing demands.

*Consideration may be given to applicants who do not possess the required educational qualifications but who can demonstrate three years relevant experience in the above (points 1-3) AND hold a qualification that demonstrates competency in working with office technology i.e. Word Processing or Typewriting.
