This is a senior leadership hire, offering the chance to take ownership of branch performance, build strategic customer relationships and lead a high performing team within a well established and growing business.

The role blends hands on branch leadership with a genuine commercial remit, so it will suit an ambitious electrical wholesale professional who has both management and business development behind them.

  • Strong career development opportunities

Key Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of the day to day running and performance of the branch.
  • Shape and deliver branch growth plans that lift revenue, market share and profitability.
  • Win new business across the industrial, commercial and contractor markets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with major contractors, consultants, end users and key accounts.
  • Act as the senior point of contact for key customers and make sure service delivery is first class.
  • Lead from the front on customer engagement, getting out on client visits and driving strategic sales activity.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and get the most from existing customer accounts.
  • Oversee quotations, tenders, project enquiries and larger customer opportunities.
  • Offer technical and commercial guidance on electrical products and solutions.
  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to meet customer requirements and open up commercial opportunities.
  • Lead, motivate and develop the branch team, building a high performance culture around service and commercial results.
  • Recruit, coach and mentor branch personnel, running regular performance reviews and setting clear development plans.
  • Track branch KPIs, profitability and performance metrics, putting action plans in place where improvement is needed.
  • Control branch budgets, costs, stock levels and overall financial performance.
  • Keep the operation running efficiently across sales, warehousing, stock control and customer service.
  • Monitor local market activity, competitor movement and wider industry trends to spot opportunities.
  • Uphold high standards of health and safety, compliance and operational best practice.
  • Support collaboration between departments and contribute to wider business initiatives.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven track record within the electrical wholesale industry.
  • Management experience gained in a branch, sales office or similar leadership post.
  • Strong technical grounding in electrical products and solutions.
  • Demonstrable success in business development, account management and growing sales revenue.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and relationship building skills.
  • Commercially sharp, with a firm grasp of branch profitability and performance management.
  • Well organised with sound problem solving ability.
  • Comfortable on Microsoft Office, with ERP experience such as Sage 200 an advantage.
  • Full UK driving licence.

This is a strong opportunity for an experienced electrical wholesale professional to move into a highly visible leadership role with real autonomy, serious earning potential and long term career prospects.
