VANRATH are assisting our client, a large Public Sector Organisation, in their search for an Band 6 Compliance Estates Officer for 6 months initially with the possibility of extension. You will predominantly be based in their Derry/Londonderry site.

Responsibilities

The Post Holder will be responsible for:

  • Managing a team of building and engineering maintenance staff.
  • Budgetary responsibility will relate to managing the delegated resource, within the prescribed limits (SODA).
  • To comply with all written procedures, relevant Codes of Practice and statutory regulations.
  • Although accountable to the Operations and Maintenance Manager, the Post Holder will be required to develop working relationships with departmental managers, external agencies and other senior estates managers to ensure the delivery of his/her responsibilities are fully coordinated and a seamless service is delivered to the customer.
  • Manage the delivery of all operations and maintenance services, ensuring all technical standards are met.
  • Primary aim of the post is to ensure / improves the Estates department meets its statutory compliance obligations.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual maintenance plans including budgetary forecasts and prioritise proposals for agreement by the Senior Operation and Maintenance Manager.
  • Develop and be responsible for the standardisation of materials and components used in maintenance services with the view to minimising cost and maximising operational efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with written policy and procedural guidelines, codes of practice and statutory regulations in respect of operational and maintenance services; particularly Health and Safety.
  • Participate as a working member of the Estates Health and Safety Development Group, which discusses and agrees Estates Health and Safety Strategy.
  • Manage and ensure compliance with agreed Estates Operational Health and Safety Policies and Procedures including sourcing, organising and overseeing training and development of subordinate staff.


Requirements

  • HNC / HND or equivalent in an Engineering Discipline

Plus

  • 3 years post qualification experience a maintenance environment to include 1 year supervisory experience


OR

  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an Engineering Discipline


Plus

  • 5 years' experience in a maintenance environment to include 1 year supervisory experience
  • Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car
  • Legislative Standards relating to operation and maintenance of buildings
  • Electrical Installation maintenance
  • Mechanical Systems Installation & Maintenance
  • Ventilation systems
  • Water Systems.
  • Energy Conservation
  • Management Principles for organisation and control of Staff
  • Application of Computers to Building Management
  • Medical Gas Maintenance



Remuneration
This is a BAND 6 role, £32,306 per annum, plus discount benefits.
