VANRATH are delighted to be working with one of Northern Ireland's most recognisable employers who are currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join their team. Having just went through a significant period of transition including a system upgrade, the organisation operate on a global scale and can offer exposure to an international environment. To be considered for this role it is essential to have previous experience with month end accounting procedures, including journal preparation, balance sheet reconciliations and variance analysis.

Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely production of monthly board backs and financial reports for senior management. Individuals with strong Excel skills including pivots and vLookups are essential due to the reporting requirements for this role.

The Ideal Person

If you are an Assistant Accountant/Assistant Management Accountant and are available to commit to a long-term contract, with strong systems experience;

  • Assistant Accountant with management accounts experience
  • Strong systems experience including MS Excel (Pivots and vLookups)
  • Comfortable with journal postings, accruals, and prepayments
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Available to start at short notice

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant you will:

  • Assist with the production of monthly management accounts
  • Prepare and post journal entries
  • Cashflow forecasting
  • Month end close
  • Analyse financial statements
