An international engineering business based in Lisburn is currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a long-term temporary position. This has the potential to become a permanent post for the right candidate.

Client

VANRATH are delighted to be working with an engineering business based in Lisburn who require an Assistant Accountant to join their team on a long-term interim project. This role is due to a number of exciting projects the organisation is involved in, it does have the potential to lead to a permanent contract for the successful candidate.

Reporting to the Senior Management Accountant, this role will be responsible for assisting with the project accounting, including budget management, expenditure reporting and month end close down. To be considered for this role it is essential to have experience of assisting with month end accounts, and candidates with strong MS Excel skills are at an advantage due to the extensive reporting involved.

The Ideal Person

If you are a Part-Qualified Accountant and interested in interim contracts;

  • Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Monthly management accounts experience
  • Strong IT skills including MS Excel
  • Experience of reconciliations
  • Available at short notice

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant you will:

  • Assist with the monthly management accounts
  • Preparing and posting accruals and prepayments
  • Monitoring project expenditure
  • Business partnering budget holders
  • Variance analysis Input and process purchase invoices
