VANRATH are pleased to be working with a recognisable Public Sector employer in Greater Belfast, who are currently recruiting an Assistant Accountant to join their team to work on project. The organisation is currently implementing a new system and this role will work on ensuring the smooth transition to the new platform.

Reporting to the Project Lead, the Assistant Accountant will be responsible for ensuring the accurate transfer of budgeting information from the previous system.

To be considered for this role it is essential to have strong IT skills including being a confident user of Ms Excel. This role is initially set for a period of 6 months however depending on the project progress, this could be extended.

Immediate start available.

The Ideal Person

If you are an Assistant Accountant/Finance Officer with experience of MS Excel and confident with IT systems:

  • Part-Qualified Accountant/Qualified Accounting Technician
  • Strong IT skills including MS Excel (pivots and vlookups)
  • Ability to work in a large finance team
  • Available to start at short notice

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Accountant you will:

  • Update budget information in system
  • Analyse large data sets
  • Budget adjustments
  • Assisting with cash flow forecasting
